Company Description
Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. is a full service civil engineering firm serving government and private sector clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. Our focus is in providing professional, personalized service, as defined by our clients’ individual needs.
History
- Founded in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in 1962.
- Concentrated initially in sanitary and municipal engineering fields during the 1960s and 1970s.
- Experienced tremendous growth serving the private sector in the 1980s, adding new service offerings in highway and bridge design, land development, financial consulting, and surveying.
- Opened our first regional office in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1989 and expanded across the state throughout the 1990s with an additional four offices in State College, Gettysburg, Pittsburgh, and Stroudsburg.
- Also expanded our service portfolio further during the 1990s with the addition of Geographic Information Systems and electrical engineering capabilities.
- Acquired Hickory Engineering, based in Hermitage, Pennsylvania, in 2004 and opened two more regional offices in Lewisburg and Dunmore.
- Acquired Alliance Environmental Services, Inc., based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in 2008, which enabled us to offer expanded services in environmental site assessments, underground storage tank management, remedial investigations, land recycling/Act 2 programs, soil and ground water remediation, regulatory compliance management, asbestos inspections and management, and litigation support services.
