HRG donates thousands of dollars to charitable organizations every year, supporting a wide range of needs in education, health and human services, economic development, and environmental protection. The vast majority of this money goes directly to organizations based in the local communities we serve. We also regularly invest in community sponsorships, supporting local parks and recreation programs, festivals and events, youth sports organizations, and arts and culture.
More than money, we also give our time. Our employee owners receive paid volunteer service hours to support an organization of their choice. Team members also routinely join together as a group for community service projects.
In 2025, we established the HRG Charitable Foundation to promote the advancement of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Our first initiative is a scholarship for high school seniors pursuing STEM-based degrees at accredited higher education institutions. By increasing access to these programs, the foundation is hoping to create a more qualified and diverse workforce for generations to come. The foundation will also provide financial support to STEM-based initiatives within schools and local communities.
We have won more than 100 awards from state and national organizations, honoring our people, our projects, and our culture. We’ve been ranked among the Top 500 Design Firms by Engineering News-Record 19 years in a row and were named the Design Firm of the Year by ENR Mid-Atlantic in 2021.
