Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade

We designed a new continuous-flow SBR plant to replace the existing 0.4 MGD trickling filter plant to accommodate high peak flows recorded at 3.9 MGD and achieve nutrient removal as required in their NPDES Permit. The upgrade included work at the existing influent pump station with new superstructure, higher capacity pumps, new fine screen, new emergency high-flow pump connections and secondary high-flow force main. The new plant includes new headworks and facilities buildings, new grit removal facilities, new continuous flow SBR with post-equalization capable of achieving BNR limits for the upgraded hydraulic capability, new tertiary filtration for additional TP reduction (TP<0.3 mg/L), and new UV light disinfection. The Project also includes new aerobic digesters, new dewatering screw press, new chemical feed system, new plant drain pump station, new emergency generator, new laboratory, and replacement of the existing outfall.
