Digital Twin Implementation for Freeland Municipal Authority
HRG helped Freeland Municipal Authority implement a digital twin to resolve ongoing non-revenue water losses. We began by securing $203,500 in grant money to fund the implementation. Then we met with FMA to understand their current technology, communication systems, and operational procedures. We used this information to develop a practical, phased approach for digital twin implementation that matched their staff capacity and budget. This involved extensive calibration and data validation as well as procurement of leak loggers and smart meters. Together, these data sources create a cohesive, visual display of how critical system components are functioning in real time. The digital twin will empower FMA to rapidly detect leaks, make data-driven decisions, and effectively manage aging infrastructure to improve service reliability for the community.

To protect the security of Freeland Municipal Authority’s data, we are showing a sample image from a demo version of Bentley’s OpenFlows WaterSight software.
