HRG Names 4 Senior Quality Leads

August 19, 2025 /

We’re pleased to announce that Matt Vanaskie, Matt Cichy, Ryan Killen, and Matt Arena have been promoted to senior quality leads at HRG.  They will provide technical expertise to guide project development and conduct quality control reviews of project deliverables.  They will also mentor technical team members and train staff on evolving techniques, technology, and trends to ensure we provide the best service to our clients.

The senior quality lead is a critical position to maintain HRG’s commitment to quality and innovation as the firm continues to grow, projects become more complex, and new technologies continue to emerge.  “A high level of technical expertise is required to stay at the forefront of these changes and deliver the highest quality service to our clients,” our vice president of services, Erin Threet says.  “The individuals we have chosen to serve as senior quality leads are recognized experts in their field, and they will do an excellent job mentoring our staff to keep HRG at the leading edge of excellence in infrastructure design and management.”

Matt Vanaskie will serve as senior quality lead for hydraulics and hydrology. Vanaskie has degrees in both civil and environmental engineering from Bucknell and Villanova Universities. He has more than 20 years of experience in flood control, hydraulic modeling, and stormwater management and has presented on these topics before the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association, the Water Environment Federation Stormwater Symposium, Pennsylvania Floodplain Managers Conference, and the Villanova University Stormwater Symposium.

Matt Cichy will serve as the senior quality lead for water and wastewater collection and conveyance systems. He is an expert on sanitary sewer inflow and infiltration as well as sewer system rehabilitation and pump station design.  He has served as the lead technical engineer on many of HRG’s most complex collection and conveyance system projects and has presented on these topics before the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association.

Ryan Killen will serve as the senior quality lead for technical financial services.  Killen’s experience encompasses a broad array of analytical and quantitative support to municipalities and municipal authorities, helping them with budgeting, authority implementation, capital charge studies, rate studies, regional stormwater programming, and valuation studies. He provides comprehensive assistance throughout transactions, including bond structuring, credit rating analysis, and disclosure documentation.

Matt Arena will serve as the senior quality lead for structural engineering in our transportation group.  Arena’s expertise ranges from single-span to complex multi-span bridges for local and state governments.  He is known for his outstanding technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and strong commitment to process efficiency.
