Liz Lackey Recognized as Top Young Pro by Water & Wastes Digest
Our team leader Liz Lackey is one of only 10 water and wastewater professionals across the United States chosen by Water & Wastes Digest for its 2021 Young Pros list. This list is published annually to recognize rising stars in the water and wastewater industry for their role as leaders, influencers, and advocates.

At just 32 years of age, Liz has already built an impressive resume of experience in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining HRG, she worked as an environmental engineer at IBM Microelectronics and as a water treatment process specialist for the City of Thornton in Colorado. She is a talented engineer with a passion for data analytics and a trusted mentor to her fellow team members. She’s also a member of the Western Pennsylvania Water Pollution Control Association, where she chairs the young professionals’ committee and serves as a member of the communications committee.
We want to congratulate Liz and all of the other men and women on this list for this well-deserved honor.
Jason Hinz Honored as One of Engineering’s Top Young Professionals
Jason Hinz is being honored by Engineering News-Record (ENR) magazine as one of the Top Young Professionals in the construction and design industry. He is profiled alongside the other honorees in the February issue of ENR’s Mid-Atlantic edition.
Hinz is a civil group manager at Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. (HRG). He oversees a team of almost 30 professionals who primarily provide municipal engineering support to local communities and also assist with water quality and stormwater management needs.
He is also committed to serving his community. Hinz is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and volunteers his time planting trees and cleaning up litter.
HRG’s civil practice area leader Matt Bonanno says, “Jason inspires and motivates his team with a calm and thoughtful demeanor, and he regularly receives glowing reviews of his work from his clients. Pennsylvania Business Central Honors Fralick, Threet, and Mendinsky
Jason Fralick, Nichole Mendinsky, and Erin Threet have each been named one of Pennsylvania Business Central’s Top 100 People for 2021. They are featured in the January 29 edition of the publication, alongside other accomplished leaders who are making a significant impact in business and in the local community.
Jason Fralick
Jason is the president of Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. (HRG). Over the past two years, he has led the development of HRG’s strategic business plan and is driving initiatives related to employee engagement, professional development, innovation, and modernization. He is also an active member of many local organizations and serves as a board member and coach for the Centre Soccer Association.
Nichole Mendinsky
Nichole is practice area leader for the land development group at HRG. This group provides engineering services for the construction of commercial and industrial facilities, higher education campuses, healthcare facilities, and senior living communities. Nichole is responsible for the group’s vision and strategy as well as the development of its staff. As a registered landscape architect, certified park and recreation professional, certified planner, and LEED accredited professional, her work is wide-ranging, but the common theme that ties it together is social impact. She also volunteers for the Nittany Valley Joint Recreation Authority in Bellefonte Borough.
Erin Threet
Erin is an assistant vice president and project manager at HRG. She oversees day-to-day operations and business development for the firm’s Lewisburg office while continuing to provide technical guidance to utility and municipal clients throughout the region. She is an active member of various water and wastewater industry organizations and the Bucknell Engineering Alumni Association. She also regularly volunteers her time for local charitable events.

Mike Kreiger Named Geomatics Group Manager at HRG
Mike Kreiger has been promoted to Geomatics Group Manager at Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. (HRG) He previously served as senior project manager and will now assume new responsibilities for marketing as well as staff training and development. He will continue to serve his existing clients as project manager.
HRG’s Geomatics Group assists clients with the gathering, storage, and analysis of spatial information. Current services include surveying, mapping, and geographic information systems development.
Kreiger is a registered professional land surveyor in Pennsylvania and Delaware. He has almost 30 years of experience in the field and in the management of survey crews. He is also a former president of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors (PSLS).

Mark Saville Named Geomatics Practice Area Leader at HRG
Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. (HRG) recently promoted Mark Saville to be the practice area leader for its Geomatics division. Saville will be responsible for the group’s vision and strategy, staff development, project delivery, client management, and sales.
HRG’s Geomatics Group assists clients with the gathering, storage, and analysis of spatial information. Current services include surveying, mapping, and geographic information systems development. As practice area leader, Saville will focus on modernizing the group and implementing new solutions like state-of-the-art robotics, aerial imagery, laser scanning, photogrammetry, and LiDAR.
Saville joined the firm in 2019, managing the delivery of Geomatics services throughout the central counties of Pennsylvania. He will now be responsible for managing the group throughout all of its offices and territories. Saville is a licensed professional surveyor with almost 40 years of experience focused on the higher education market, along with healthcare facilities, senior living, and commercial real estate.

Cory Salmon Promoted to Group Manager
Since the firm opened its King of Prussia office in April 2019, water and wastewater engineer Cory Salmon has served as a local team leader and helped to grow HRG’s profile in the area. He is being promoted to group manager, overseeing all water and wastewater projects completed by the office. In his new role, he will take on additional responsibilities managing local staff in his service group and performing business development in the water and wastewater market. Salmon has more than five years of experience in the planning, design, bidding, and construction of water and sewer systems. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Temple University and earned a master’s in business administration from The Pennsylvania State University.
“Cory has played a pivotal role in establishing HRG’s presence in Southeastern Pennsylvania,” Kenworthy says. “He is committed to our clients and to the entire HRG team, and this promotion is very well-deserved.”

HRG Strengthens Its M/E/P Capabilities with Addition of Matt Moore
Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. (HRG) is pleased to announce Matt Moore is rejoining the firm as a senior professional. He will lead the firm’s electrical and control design services to clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Moore will primarily support water and wastewater utilities; but he will also provide depth and experience in supporting HRG’s civil, municipal, and transportation services. He has 19 years of experience in the industry, including seven years as an electrical engineer at HRG in the early 2000s. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology from The Pennsylvania State University and a master’s in business administration from Montreat College. He is a licensed professional engineer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and North Carolina.

Matt Vanaskie Joins HRG as Senior Project Manager
Matthew Vanaskie has joined the civil group at Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. as a senior project manager in our Lewisburg office. He has 15 years of experience in water resource management, which includes watershed planning, NPDES permitting, MS4 compliance, and the design of water, sewer, and stormwater systems. He also assists communities with capital planning and budgeting.
Vanaskie is a licensed professional engineer and has presented at industry conferences for the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association and the Water Environment Federation.
“We’re very excited to have Matt on our team,” HRG assistant vice president Erin Threet says. “We already have a strong team of experts in the land development and water/wastewater sectors in this office, and we have always had a deep bench of water quality experts throughout the organization. With Matt on board, we have a senior water quality expert here in Lewisburg to enhance our service offerings to local clients in the surrounding communities.”
