In association with W.R. Love Golf Course Architecture, Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. (HRG) performed site design for the new Cranberry Highlands Golf Course in Cranberry Township, Butler County, PA. This 18-hole course was constructed on 165 acres of land previously owned by the Township’s water and sewer authority.
HRG delineated wetland areas at the site; completed storm sewer design, including a storm sewer detention pond; and created an erosion and sedimentation control plan. Additionally, HRG designed the clubhouse site and a 140-space parking lot.
Our staff also secured the necessary NPDES and joint permits, allowing for the construction of a one-acre mitigated wetland to compensate for wetlands impacted by the project construction.
During the course of the project a one-mile stretch of Freshcorn Road, which traverses the golf course, was reconstructed. HRG designed a 12-foot pedestrian/cart bridge, complete with abutments designed to match the architectural features of the golf course, to allow golfers to safely travel across this road.
