HRG Works with Chesapeake Conservancy on Rapid Delisting of Impaired Streams

HRG has partnered with the Chesapeake Conservancy on its Rapid Delisting program in Centre, Huntingdon, Snyder and Union Counties. The program is a strategic, data-driven effort to focus limited resources where they can have a quick and significant impact on water quality. The conservancy worked with stakeholders in local communities to identify 39 priority streams on Pennsylvania’s list of impaired waterways and accelerate the implementation of BMPs in those watersheds to bring these streams to attainment status and get them removed from the list.

HRG has used the Countywide Action Program to leverage resources, match commitments, and better coordinate with partners to facilitate BMP implementation. You can see the progress the program is making in their storymap:
