Jacob Hawkins

Jacob’s areas of expertise include agricultural nutrient management, pesticide selection/application, crop research, crop planning, soil investigations, permit application, and pest identification.

He has seven years of agricultural research experience working as both a farm manager and as a principal field researcher conducting residue, efficacy, and genetically modified field trials. He has conducted trials on agronomic, horticultural, ornamental, turf, and tree fruit crops.

In addition to crop science, Jacob has extensive experience with soil science, working for an environmental consulting company. He has lead soil site investigations to qualify farms to receive biosolid. Along with site investigations he has worked with farmers to develop application rates and application timings for biosolids based on crop nitrogen needs.

His work reflects a deep knowledge of plant and soil science blended with practical insight into the realities of daily farm operations from growing up on a family farm raising horses, managing pastures, and harvesting hay.
