Nick Hepfl
Engineering Technician
Nick knows the goals and challenges of agricultural operations firsthand, thanks to his experience working on the family farm growing up. He currently works with farmers, non-profit organizations, universities, conservation districts, state, and federal agencies to plan and implement agricultural projects and water quality conservation programs. Nick uses his expertise in agricultural operations, soil health, nutrient management, and grazing management to drive measurable results for farmers and programs.
His work focuses on sustainable planning and project solutions that improve operational productivity and farm viability, while supporting larger regional initiatives that drive long-term success for clients. Nick has been engaged in the development and implementation of a variety of statewide and regional agricultural conservation initiatives, such as the development of the ACAP Practice Approval System, the PA PACS program, and PA Countywide Action Plans, which focused on the implementation of best management practices to improve water quality. He is an experienced project manager who understands both the farmer’s perspective and the administrative demands of conservation programs, making him an effective partner for farms, county conservation districts, government agencies, and other organizations working to improve water quality across the region.
