We collaborated with the Northwest Regional Planning & Economic Development Commission (Northwest Commission) to enhance broadband accessibility in its 8-county region. Utilizing GIS technology, our team analyzed data on vertical assets, land resources, and line-of-sight corridors to pinpoint locations for fixed wireless infrastructure placement. We closely collaborated with local authorities and ISPs to identify unserved and underserved areas, crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic when connectivity was vital for schools and businesses. Our services included inventorying vertical assets, collecting telecommunications data, developing an ESRI database of asset locations and attributes, creating a broadband inventory application, conducting modeling for infrastructure placement, generating unserved/underserved household databases, and producing GIS products for stakeholder engagement.
