Student Achievement Center – Youngwood, Westmoreland County, PA

Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. (HRG) provided surveying and engineering services for a major facility renovation at this community college in Western Pennsylvania.

The project involved renovating portions of Founders Hall into a renamed Student Achievement Center with student collaboration areas, administration offices, cafeteria and classrooms. This included demolition of the existing hardscape and landscaping to recreate the entry experience and student lawn.

Site improvements facilitated new access to the building, enhanced accessibility, and reconnected the pedestrian circulation to the greater campus. Care was taken to preserve the brick pavilion.

HRG worked with the landscape architect to design large rain gardens that support the environmental stewardship goals of the college.
